Welcome to the most gorgeous time that Houston sees - the gentle reprieve of Spring before the sweltering summer comes in and poofs our hair and melts our makeup. Springtime in Texas means Instagram-able bluebonnet pictures, spotting new baby calves in the farms off the highway, and of course, a new season of trunk shows at Deutsch Fine Jewelry. We’ve been getting ready all season to bring you representatives from some of our favorite designers - Armenta, Lauren K, and Temple St. Clair - and they are pulling out all the stops to showcase the best of the best of their latest and greatest creations. These three designers in particular are known for their memorable and individual style, and we know they are going to brighten up the store for our Trunk Show this May.
The Feminine Urge to Attend a Trunk Show
For the girl with the latest styles on the brain, a Trunk Show is an essential part of the fashion-building playbook. For those a little lost, a Trunk Show is a special event in the industry where designers of all kinds can bring their latest pieces to showcase to a fashion-forward audience. Unlike a traditional runway fashion show, a Trunk Show is a more intimate occasion that allows the designers to connect with their customers and share the story and inspiration behind their work. The items found at a Trunk Show are often the latest and greatest in the brand’s collection, and sometimes clients will set eyes on a piece that has yet to be sold to the general public. Deutsch’s May Trunk Show is bound to be an absolute hit this year with the ethereal golds of Temple St. Clair, the prismatic gemstones Lauren K, and the intricate designs of Armenta. Enter Deutsch Fine Jewelry during one of our weekend Trunk Shows this May and immediately feel like royalty with never-before-seen pieces and representatives from each brand.
Lauren K’s Kaleidoscope - May 5th & 6th
After learning jewelry artisanship as a way to connect with her grandfather, Lauren K wanted to make waves with new and exciting pieces. She was tired of the humdrum rubies and emeralds that kept showing up in luxury jewelry designs and decided to come up with some truly mesmerizing and prismatic compositions. It is through this vision that every Lauren K piece is crafted. She opts for tanzanites and tourmalines, and every stone is one-of-a-kind. Now, don’t get us wrong, the brand provides some more traditional pieces with a modern twist, like the Pave Diamond Blue Sapphire and Aquamarine Necklace, which boasts a gorgeous juxtaposition between two well-known precious gems - the deep, dark blue sapphire and pale, sky-colored aquamarine - with a delicate white diamond pavé lining the yellow gold clasp. For something a little more whimsical, the Diya Watermelon Tourmaline Ring by Lauren K is a sight to behold. A yellow gold band wraps around the finger like a watermelon vine, producing two pink and white petals of watermelon tourmaline lined in white diamonds. Get ready for even more color, because the Boulder Opal 4 Stone Joyce Earrings is an iridescent explosion of organic shapes. Stop by May 5th and May 6th for an exclusive look at Lauren K’s newest brilliance.
Devotionals to Temple St. Clair - May 6th
The work of Temple St. Clair speaks for itself. With its air of divinity and its devotion to storytelling through accessories, the brand is pleasantly recognizable and effortlessly energetic. Temple St. Clair deals in creating vignettes with warm yellow golds, crisp crystal, and tasteful touches of white diamonds. Inspired by Diana, Roman goddess of the forest, the Vine Amulet wraps diamonds and leaves of yellow gold around a polished rock crystal, evoking both the natural and the divine. For fans of the far-out, Moonface Earrings boast two happy rock crystal moon faces in a halo of 18k yellow gold punctuated with clusters of three white diamonds. For those in need of some cherubic joy, Temple St. Clair delivers the yellow gold Angel Pendant wrapped in a gleaming white diamond pavé. Be sure to make it by May 6th for a taste of what Temple St. Clair has in store this season.
The Art of Armenta - May 12th & 13th
Last, but certainly not least is our very own hometown heroes, Armenta Jewelry. Not only is the antique-inspired artistry of this brand enough to knock your stockings off, but Armenta is also known for their commitment to sustainability, education, and empowerment. Armenta is woman-owned, women-made, and women-led. They developed a school for women from disadvantaged backgrounds that gave them a path to artisanship. Every piece of Armenta jewelry is made through this loving and giving ethos. On top of the warm fuzzies, Armenta makes some serious wearable art. Garnering inspiration from ancient artifacts and gothic architecture, Armenta’s edgy and unique style is sure to turn heads. The New World Huggie Hinged Bracelet is accented with romantic champagne diamonds in a muted sterling silver. Pair it with the New World Small Circle Constellation Drop Earrings for a nod to the celestial, or the Old World Scroll Hoop Earrings for a wink to antiquity. Regardless of the outfit or outing, Arementa always has something to keep us entertained. Stop by Deutsch Jewelry on May 12th and May 13th for a look at Armenta’s new stroke of genius.
