Haute Couture is absolutely popping off this year, and we cannot get enough of these incredible designs. While some of these looks are great for a fancy event or gala, we love to be inspired by couture in our everyday looks and aesthetic choices. One piece of well-placed and thoughtfully-chosen jewelry can change an outfit from basic to bold. Choosing a style isn’t something that just happens one day - a style is like a living organism that needs to be fed inspiration and art on a regular basis to remain fresh and creative. Watching the art and fashion world and shaping trends into a growing personal style is the best way to keep that inspiration going.
We’ve already gone over a few Couture jewelry looks, but there’s been such an explosion of creativity in the fashion world that we couldn’t possibly fit them all. It’s going to be a wild year for fashion, as we haven’t even gotten through Spring and every runway has brought us to our knees. Every designer is bringing their best this year, and we are eating popcorn in the front row for all of it. A single blog was not enough to encapsulate the kaleidoscope of creative energy that is flowing out of the high-fashion runways this year, so we decided to bring in a second installment of Couture-inspired jewelry looks. You’re welcome.
Dramatically Monochromatic
Zuhair Murad is stunning once again, making a statement in monochrome pink. The smooth matte fabric brings out the lush pink color of the styles, evoking images of a modern, 2023 Jackie O. Playing with some plush monochromatic looks is not a new design concept, but Murad has elevated the monochrome concept to new heights with this blushing pink collection. The rose jumpsuit is following the knee-buckling sheer trend that is taking us all by storm right now, yet stays congruent with the monochrome look in both the embroidery and the translucent pinks of the sheer fabric. The Joyce Pink Tourmaline Two Stone Earrings by Lauren K encapsulate this bright monochrome look and even have a touch of that glassy translucence to catch the light. Set in 18k of alluring yellow gold and suspended by a delicate pave of white diamonds, these earrings never fail to impress and are the perfect finishing touch on a pretty-in-pink ensemble.
Unleash The Beast
Schiaparelli made some serious waves on the runway this season and took the concept of “animal print” to the next level. This isn’t your mother’s 1990s Michael Kors collection - this is high art on heels. We are seeing themes of fierce independence in 2023, and this dress gives off boss energy in a big way. To match the Sasha Fierce vibes, the Medium Black Diamond Stretch Ring with Diamond Spots by Robert Demeglio shows off a bolder side. The black diamond rows are dotted with little white diamond stars, giving it the impression of a beautiful and clear night sky.
Watermelon Sugar High
We’ve been seeing all-sheer everything in fashion lately and it’s a trend that has been catching on like wildfire. This year, Elie Saab shook us to the core once again with the runway looks, and this sheer number was the fairytale fit we have all been looking for. The pale pinks and greens and the fabric leafs cascading down the sparkle-lined skirt give us Queen Titania vibes. The Emerald Cut Watermelon Tourmaline Necklace by Lauren K plays with this gorgeous color palette, gives an authentic nature feel with the natural stone, and then tops it off with a bit of elegance in the form of a delicate round diamond pave.
Lavender Haze
Enter the Empress. Ziad Nakad’s runway this year was full of regality, ornate beading, and incredible use of color. One such runway look took us all by storm with a sheer and meticulously beaded lavender piece. Nakad was partly inspired by Indian palace architecture, and it’s easy to see the inspiration - a combination of the crownlike hood, the arches of the embroidery, and the swoops of Swarovski transports the wearer to an ornate throne room. The Emerald Cut Purple Tourmaline Bea Necklace by Lauren K is a lovely lavender moment of one’s own, and with a sizeable open-face gemstone like this stunning purple tourmaline as a gleaming centerpiece, it’s easy to feel like a queen.
