Winter is over and we’re already done with neutrals and beige (sorry, Kim K.) It’s time to embrace the best of what the rainbow has to offer. Runways are seeing a renaissance in concept and design, and many designers have been leaving the neutrals behind in favor of bright colors and wild shapes. Gucci played with some pale olive greens and dark purple shades, both Chanel and Jil Sander had some pretty-in-pink moments, and Molly Goddard played with bold color blocking and captivating textures. Not only is it a colorful runway season, but Spring 2024 is looking bolder in terms of color and design in general. Recently, we went over some colorful and exuberant holidays like the Hindu holiday of Holi and the Christian holiday of Easter, and many designers are going all-out to provide colorful options for the usual jewelry holidays. It’s getting so prismatic out there that we decided to cultivate our most colorful choices into one rainbow-themed gift guide.
Wear the Rainbow
Why choose only a single bright and bold color when there’s the option to have all of them? The 18k Rainbow Eternity Necklace by Temple St. Clair hosts a whole party of colorful gemstones. Each color of the rainbow is represented: red rubies, bright green tsavorite garnets, and a whole host of sapphires in orange, pink, blue, and lavender shades. Each magnificent gemstone is punctuated with a small brilliant round white diamond that nestles between the gemstones, making a fun and elegant alternating pattern. These diamonds and colorful gemstones line a yellow-gold chain that sits gorgeously on a collarbone.
Spin into Spring
Temple St. Clair has got us covered in the color department. Known for making unique and ethereal luxury jewelry, Temple St. Clair outdid themselves with the Rainbox 3x Orbit Earrings. Not only are these yellow gold earrings veritably covered in multicolored gemstones, but the design also allows for a kinetic quality to be imbued into the earrings: these babies spin. In fact, we featured the diamond version of these earrings in our Elegance for the Eclipse article. Almost representative of a planetary orbital diagram, a blue moonstone is placed in the center of the design with a circle of yellow gold hovering around it. On the outer ring is a halo of ruby and green tsavorite garnet, and orange, pink, blue, and lavender sapphire in a rainbow formation encircles the moonstone. This rainbow halo hangs from diamond pavé clasps and the moonstone and yellow gold disc can spin independently.
Geometrically Gorgeous
A beautiful display of pink and green, the Demantoid Halo Pendant Cable Chain by John Apel is the quintessential statement piece. The magnificent center stone of the pendant is pure morganite, a preciously pale pink stone – a pink counterpart to the baby blue aquamarine. Dotted with yellow gold accents, the teardrop-shaped morganite gemstone is surrounded by a pale green halo of round demantoid gemstones. This beautiful morganite and demantoid pendant is suspended by a yellow gold cable chain that adds to the vibrant color of this piece.
Watermelon Sprinkle High
Leave it to Lauren K to bring some color to a design. The Watermelon Tourmaline Sprinkle Ring is a prismatic spectacle of pink, green, and sparkling white diamonds. Every Lauren K piece is a little bit different – all inclusions and imperfections in the gemstone are kept visible and the designs are crafted around the natural formation of each stone. The Watermelon Tourmaline Sprinkle Ring features a prominent pink and green watermelon tourmaline, set in yellow gold, with a sprinkling of diamonds around the crown.
